Anatomy of Emotion

Master's Thesis Project The idea for this book came after research on the representation of abstract concepts. How do you visually show sound, smell, taste, touch? How do you visually represent that which is vague, elusive, amorphous? By use of color and illustration I defined emotion and traced the process in which a stimulus turns into a complex set of physiological changes in our organism.

The book approaches emotional behavior and the physiological impact it generates in the human body.
Upon the contact with the environment (perception), the nervous system adapts through mental and bodily reactions, that happen in advance of rational interpretation. The mental and bodily reactions triggered evoke the emotion — our feeling of those changes.
